Xathier Weyr!
"Freaks" "Outcasts" "Tradition-breakers"
These are the words used by the time-tried original Weyrs to describe Xathier Weyr. Founded by a young pale-gold queen and her rider, two bronzes, and a brown, all of which had been scorned riders in their own home weyrs. The first clutch born in the desert-weyr barely hatched, only seven of twenty-six eggs hatched, leaving a poor omen for the few who hoped the weyr would survive.
Fast forward fifty three turns, and the founders of Xathier are well aged, and most beyond flight. The gold has risen one final time, a weak clutch of only eight eggs, one of which was the infamous Tau Dragon. While the outside weyrs would have the dragon and her rider from flying, those who are have been born in the weyr treat her like a symbol of the future.
With the old gold not rising in her last five turns before passing away with her rider, leadership has changed to not the next eldest gold and her rider, but their junior due to a crippling illness in the older. With no one sure of the weyrs fate anymore, the hardy desert weyr may very well lose its grip.
Its fate rests in the hands of the riders... and you!
