Excavation of the newest Weyr on Pern is finally coming to an end. Located in the fertile bowl of a long-since dormant volcano, the riders of Fireweed Weyr have only seven years to prepare for the day when they will have to patrol the skies over Deep South and Wherrytail Holds, as well as protect their own assets.
In the Holds, second-generation or more offspring of Greens born during the Interval who were never fed firestone - small, long-winged, dead stupid things with surprising stamina that have become known simply as longwings - are being bred and Impressed in small scale independent of the Weyrs as couriers. The access to "dragons" of their own and the convenience they offer has largely limited Holders' antipathy towards the Weyrs over the Interval.
We are a new non-canon Weyr, with some long-term developments planned as well as plenty of room for our members to influence and suggest plots. We do not reserve any colors for staff, though we do try to keep the populations of our colors roughly in proportion. First and foremost, we try to be a welcoming community where nobody should ever need to feel reluctant to bring up any concerns they might have, and where new players are accepted into play with a minimum of fuss. We want to grow with our community!
